Carl is an award-winning director of shorts, commercials, music videos, and transmedia web series. Born and raised in the Tar Heel State, the legendary Carolina soda known as Cheerwine flows in his veins. He earned his M.F.A. in Film Production from Florida State and his B.A. in Cinema-Television from Regent University. In addition, he’s a voice actor for both live-action and animation. He’s obsessed with watching Star Trek and learning apologetics. Finally, his beard has several acting credits on IMDb. Carl's short films have screened at over a dozen film festivals in the US, Europe, and the Middle East, even winning a Telly Award for his fantasy adaptation of Edgar Allan Poe's haunting romance poem Annabel Lee. For a complete list of awards, click here.

Carl is developing his short Murky Water into a feature-length script: Seduced by her dead mother’s ghost, anguished teen Charlotte takes revenge against her harsh preacher father for drowning her mother in the backwater swamps of the Great Depression-stricken South.

Also in development is the sci-fi drama entitled Starlight. Inspired by his short film Wish Star, a husband and wife's crumbling marriage is transformed when an alien meteor crashes in their backyard. Starlight was a Semi-Finalist in the 2018 ScreenCraft Sci-Fi Screenplay Contest.
